DECEPTION: RIGHT MAKES OLD DOBBS VIDEO APPEAR CURRENT TO SCARE

OCTOBER 13, 2009  THIS IS FROM CNN, NOT FOX!

A mass viral email containing the above video and caption is making the rounds and it aims to implicitly stir up fear and bad feelings about President Obama and the Democratic-controlled Congress. The video is made to appear current since the current date is next to it. The email also tries to give itself credibility by pronouncing in bold font that, "THIS IS FROM CNN, NOT FOX," as if it must certainly be a legitimate concern since CNN (a news outlet the Right thinks is Left-leaning) is reporting the criticism.  The video itself is a clip from a Lou Dobbs' show in which he lists all the outrageous items in an amnesty bill that John Boehner had called a piece of shit. If this video were current as the email suggests it is, it would appear that CNN and Boehner are being critical of Obama and the Democratic-controlled Congress.

Only problem is that the video is actually video from May of 2007. John Boehner's admonishment that the amnesty bill was a piece of shit was actually directed at President Bush and the Congressional leadership at the time. At the time, criticism of the bill came from both the right and the left. The bill that Lou Dobb's speaks of has nothing to do with anything current today. It is old news made to look current as if CNN and Boehner are criticizing the Obama administration and Congress. One thing is true though, Fox did not run this information at the time because it was a Republican criticizing George Bush.
